HTwo Backup
For accountants and their clients

Client backups that finish without you.

Every client folder, zipped and sent to your Google Drive on a schedule. Each client gets a private link to their own backup, and it stops working after three days — because you should not have to remember to take it back.

Windows. Installs in a minute. Runs whether the app is open or not.
01 · At the set time

Windows starts it

A scheduled task, not a background app someone might close.

02 · Read only

The folder is zipped

Timestamped, checked for space first. Originals are never touched.

03 · Upload

Into your Drive

Under HTwo Backups, in that client's own subfolder.

04 · Email

The client gets a link

Viewer access for their address only. Never a public link.

05 · 72 hours later

Access is revoked

Automatically, whether or not anyone remembered.

What it does

Built for handling other people's books

Most of this exists because backups for clients are different from backups for yourself.

One profile per clientClient management
Each client has their own folder, schedule, Drive location, email address and link expiry. Add as many as you handle; they run independently.
Runs on Windows' own schedulerschtasks
Backups are registered as native scheduled tasks, so they run at the set time with the application closed and after a restart. Nothing depends on someone leaving a window open.
Straight into Google DriveDrive API
Signs in once with your own Google account. Creates and maintains a subfolder per client under HTwo Backups, and uploads there.
Links that expire on their own72-hour access
The client's viewer permission is removed exactly 72 hours after upload by a background task that checks hourly — so an old link cannot quietly stay open for months.
A record of every runHistory and logs
What ran, when, how large, whether the upload and the email succeeded, and when access was revoked. When a client asks, the answer is on screen.
Test before you trust itPreflight
Checks the folder, disk space, Drive connection and email settings without creating, uploading or sending anything.
Your data

It reads. It does not rearrange.

This runs against folders holding other people's accounts. Everything about it is built so that a bad run costs you a retry, not a client's records.

Source folders are read-only

Files are read to build the archive. Nothing in the source is written, moved or deleted, ever.

Checked before it starts

Folder readable, disk space sufficient. A run that would fail halfway does not begin.

Your Drive, your account

Backups go to the Google account you sign in with. Nothing passes through anyone else's storage.

No public links

Viewer access is granted to one email address. There is no "anyone with the link" mode.

Temporary files cleaned up

The local archive is removed once the upload is confirmed, including after a failure.
